OTA Programming

Over the Air Programming

Using the OTA service, once a pager is lost it can be disabled remotely. In the time it takes to send a message, the lost pager is made secure, ensuring that none of your highly sensitive messages are displayed.

OTA is a particularly valuable feature on pagers that are part of a group receiving the same ‘GroupCall’ message. Without the OTA service, if one pager in a group is lost it would mean all the pagers within that group would need to be returned and issued with a new replacement group.

However, if a pager is OTA enabled only the lost pager is disabled while the rest continue to be used uninterrupted. Once the Pager is found it is enabled and any messages sent whilst the pager was disabled, can now be displayed.
